“I’m going to focus just on the exercise aspect, because that’s what I am most familiar with – although I know there is more to SHW than that. For a start, we’re a group that you can join from your home – no need to get in the car and go anywhere. Join in your PJs if you wish! We also are for a particular subset of people, that being mature aged women – and some of us are very mature! But we are not treated like “older women” – we are expected to be able to lift weights and do push ups. However, allowances are made for personal limitations and injuries so if you can’t do the exercises set – there’s always an alternative. There are exercises that you can do one on one with a coach, or with a group, or by yourself at a time that works for you. No need to give up exercising because you’re getting older! In fact, all the more reason to be exercising, because we all know that if we don’t use it, we lose it – faster and faster, the older we get!”
